Pure

Definition: the Bible defines “pure” refers to something that is clean, unblemished, or undefiled. It applies to moral, spiritual, and ceremonial cleanliness. Purity is often connected with holiness, righteousness, and a heart that seeks God without corruption.

    • This verse emphasizes the importance of inward purity, which allows believers to have fellowship with God.
  2. Psalm 24:3-4 “Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? Or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.”
    • Purity here relates to integrity, truthfulness, and freedom from idolatry.
  3. Psalm 51:10 “Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.”
    • A prayer for purification and spiritual renewal.
  4. Proverbs 16:2 “All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits.”
    • Purity requires God’s perspective, not self-justification.
  5. 1 Timothy 4:12 “Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.”
    • A call for believers, especially young ones, to maintain purity as a testimony.
  6. Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
